Cody Janssen Top 10 at Loretta Lynn’s

Cody Janssen Top 10 at Loretta Lynn’s

Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee is the epicenter of the motocross racing world for a two week span in early August each and every year. It starts with the dirt bikes, where dreams are made and lives changed forever at the largest and most prestigious motocross race in the world. After the conclusion of that event, the ATV community invades the ranch and the process take place all over again. ATVMX Pro Cody Janssen, former Pro Rookie of the Year and World Champion, comes into Loretta Lynn’s off of a dominant performance at the Kyler Lenz Memorial Race where he grabbed the win in commanding fashion. The rider of the #25 looked to end his national season with a bang down in Tennessee!

It was apparent that momentum was on Janssen’s side as he looked strong all throughout the weekend. A tangle in the second corner of Pro Moto 1 wasn’t enough to slow Cody down, after getting untangled with the three or four other riders, Janssen put on a charge and got all the way up to 11th by moto’s end. In Moto 2, Janssen clawed his way up inside the top 10, finding himself in a multi-lap back and forth battle with Pro Class veteran Josh Upperman. Cody would eventually finish 10th in the moto, earning him 10th place overall in the AMA ATV Pro Class – his best finish of the season.

In Sunday’s Pro Am racing, Cody looked strong again. However, running in position for a top 5 overall finish, he had a mechanical failure with one lap to go. Even with the issue at the end of Moto 2, a strong day up to that point still earned him an 8th overall in Pro Am. This gave Cody 7th overall in the season ending points standings.

“It feels great to be in the Top 10!” Cody stated. “In the top 10 against the best guys in the world, we’ll take that anytime! I would’ve loved to keep it in the top 5 [in Pro Am] today, but we had something lock up in the top end. It does feel good to end the season with some of my best rides of the year, though! I’d have to say this was our strongest weekend this season, no question about it. Thank you to everyone who made this all possible, what a ride it has been!”

So many great people make being a top 10 Pro possible, Cody must thank all the incredible individuals who show their support and make competing at the highest level possible. He must thank the Londerville family and Londerville Steel for coming on as the title sponsor for this season, without Jereme and his family none of this would be possible. Stay tuned and God bless.
