Janssen Wins ATVMX Season Finale at Loretta Lynn’s

Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch, located in Hurricane Mills, Tn, is home of one of the most prestigious race tracks in American motocross. The track lies dormant for nearly 50 weeks out of the year, but for those other two weeks it is a hotbed for the best motocross racers in the world on both two wheels, as well as four. On the second weekend of August, the world’s best ATV athletes took center stage. Fan favorite, Cody Janssen, came in riding a wave of momentum after his victory at RedBud and looked to make it wins at three of the last five races to end the National season.

Cody Janssen, as has been the case all season, was fast and consistent right from the start at Loretta’s. He’s rode strong at this event over the years, and after a few quick passes on the opening lap, grabbed another first moto win on a somewhat muddy course. In moto 2, Janssen dominated aboard his #25 machine. Making an early moto pass for the lead, Cody then turned 4-5 sec faster lap times en route to victory in Moto 2. Cody Janssen’s 1-1 finishes scored him 1st overall on the weekend, nabbing his 3rd national win in the last 5 events and his 34th national overall win of his career.

“There’s no better way to end the season than on the top step of the podium at Loretta’s!” Janssen stated after his victory. “This season has been so FUN, I’m just so grateful for all these memories made and all the support I’ve received – it’s sad to see it come to an end. I’ve never loved this sport more than I do as I stand here today. Racing ATVs is what I love to do, so until I’m unable, that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks to everyone who supports me, we’ll be back next season!”

Cody Janssen grabbed 3 overall national wins this season and finished 1st or 2nd in every moto all season. His consistency was unmatched but he came up just short of his goal, losing the National Championship by just 9 points. Cody stated via Instagram that “on paper he won 3 overalls, but those stats don’t show all the smiles, hugs, compliments, happy tears, and countless memories made this season”. Cody must thank all the top-notch people and companies that make chasing this dream possible. A special thanks goes to Pivot Works/Vertex/Hot Cams/Hot Rods/Cylinder Works/All Balls Racing for their help in building a powerhouse of an engine. He must thank all the riders and families that support and attend the Cody Janssen Riding School. Another huge thank you goes out to the Swartfager Family at Swartfager Farms and Knox Country Farm Supply, this 2018 season wouldn’t be possible without you! Cody’s pursuit of National Championships comes while using CST Tires and Elka Suspension, both industry leaders – thank you to CST Tires, Elka Suspension, as well as Impact Solutions for all the support!
