Janssen, Strong at Unadilla, Looks for Podium Performance at RedBud

Over the past 47 years, Unadilla Mx in New Berlin, New York has become known as one of the most world renowned tracks around the globe. This past weekend the storied hills of Unadilla played host to the world’s best ATV Motocross athletes as the ProX ATV Motocross Championship Tour came to town.  Cody Janssen, former AMA ATV Pro Rookie of the Year and reigning ATV Derby Pro World Champion, came into Unadilla on a bit of momentum after that top 5 he grabbed at Spring Creek. The 24-year-old wanted nothing more than to put on another good showing at the “Home of Horsepower”.

Cody Janssen and the #25 Londerville Steel/Janssen Motorsports Honda were set up for a top 10 overall finish in the Pro Class, but anyone familiar with Unadilla knowns it’s not just the home of horsepower, but sizeable rocks as well. In Pro Moto 2 a rock cracked Cody’s radiator and ended his hopes of a top 10 with 2 laps remaining. In the Pro Am class, the #25 rider came home with a 7th place finish. Disappointing for a guy who expects to challenge for wins, but if there was a hard charger award Janssen would be awarded it. It both moto he found himself making pass after pass after pass all moto long. With RedBud on the schedule next, a place where Cody has always thrived, it’s safe to say the entire crew is excited for what next weekend has instore!

“I hoped for a lot more this weekend.” Janssen stated post-race. “But with a rock spoiling our day [in the Pro Class], there’s just no way to prevent that. In Pro Am, if we can get a start we can win the thing – or at least put it on the podium. No doubt in my mind. I just make it hard on myself by needing to make so many early-race passes that by the time I get in clean air the leaders are too far gone. But we’re going to RedBud, I’ve always done well there. Last year, I think it was probably my best weekend of the year. I want a podium and I want it bad, I’m going to do whatever it takes. These next 10 days I’m going to spend improving and we’re going to make it happen at RedBud!”

Cody’s run at podiums and race wins wouldn’t be possible without the great care and support of the people that continue to back him. He must thank his parents/family and the rest of the Janssen Motorsports crew; Thank you to the Londerville family and Londerville Steel for stepping up for Cody when he needed it most. Thank you to Elka Suspension for their support of the #25, phenomenal products and people. Also, thanks to Jay at Impact Solutions, Maxxis Tires, SSI Decals, Walsh Racecraft, Valvoline, Koster Racing, FMF, Pivot Works, Hinson Clutch Components, DP Brakes, Thor MX, 100%, E-Z UP, Cliff Cox and Oshkosh Tattoo and Good Girl Piercing, Risk Racing, Napa of Peru, Indiana; Pafford EMS, FourWerx Carbon, Sconnie Nation, 1st Endurance, Piping Service INC., DT-1 Filters, Sunstar Sprockets, D.I.D Chains, Galfer USA, Rath Racing, Renthal, Works Connection, 4Arm Strong, Don Straus, Pro-Tec, PHC Coatings, Jeremy Edwards at Edwards Auctioneering, Corey Garrison at Parts Unlimited, Evans Coolant, Terry Moore, Kay Gunn PT, Evans Coolant, Frank Vallone and family, his phenomenal mechanics (Joel Janssen, Todd Blom, Haley Davis and Dan Binder), Ken Hill always for the photos, and everyone else that supports him. The Janssen team is like a set of gears, Joel and Lisa Janssen along with Haley Davis (girlfriend) make Cody and his racing successful, it wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of them. Cody Janssen and the #25 are primed and ready for a huge performance at RedBud Track and Trail in Buchanan, Michigan on the weekend of July 30-31, see you there! God bless.
