Cody Janssen Preseason Press Release & Daytona Report

Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.
— Rocky Balboa

24 year old Cody Janssen has had a highly decorated career, from World Championship crowns to multiple National Championships and a AMA Pro Class Rookie of the Year award laced in between, ATV motocross has been good to the Wisconsin native. That being said, 2016 was a trying year after an early injury and riding out the remainder of the season far from 100%. In preparation for the 2017 season, Janssen has seemingly pushed all the right buttons. He was able to acquire great new sponsors to add to his support system, was able to give his body the time it needed to heal and work alongside some of the best and most innovative physical therapists around, but the headliner move was when Cody signed on with The Program – the most proven and successful training program in the sport of ATV motocross. The training program of champions Dustin Wimmer, Joel Hetrick, Nick Gennusa, and others, Cody Janssen looks to put his name among those ATV greats. He has worked tirelessly and left no stone unturned going into the 2017 season.

Cody believes his preseason preparation has been nothing short of phenomenal with his speed and fitness on levels he’s never seen before. He took his preseason momentum into Bike Week at Daytona International Speedway on March 14th for the season opener of the AMA ATV Pro Motocross Championship. Daytona is points-paying for only the Pro Class (half points), almost giving it a preseason feel. After qualifying well, Janssen kept up the momentum with the best start of his professional career in Moto 1. Late in the race while running 3rd and trying to make a move to pass into 2nd, the #25 got hung up on a berm and it would take him over a lap to get unstuck in the mud left over from the rainy days prior. Moto 2 saw Janssen get a top 10 start, which was miraculous after having to start on the back row. But as Janssen pushed the limit, he had a small get-off that just cost him too much time to make up. The results show that Cody Janssen’s #25 machine finished 16th at the 3rd Annual ATV Supercross at Daytona, what the results don’t show is the speed Cody Janssen now possesses, all the countless hours and never ending preparation. His confidence is sky high and he’s now working harder than ever heading into the Texas round at Underground MX.

Janssen is slated to compete in the Pro and Pro Am classes again this season in the ATV Motocross National Championship series. It goes without saying that he has his sights set on the Pro Am National Title and that elusive first top 5 finish of his professional career in the AMA ATV Pro class. If one thing is for certain, Cody Janssen has put in the work to achieve his goals. He has assembled the needed support system to achieve his goals. Now it’s time to make it happen and I believe he is ready to let his riding do the talking!

Having just mentioned his support system, Cody must thank all the incredible individuals who show their support and make competing at the highest level in the world possible. He must thank the Londerville family and Londerville Steel for coming on as the title sponsor for this season, without Jereme and his family none of this would be possible.
