ICYMI: Janssen Finds Momentum with Pair of Runner-Up Finishes at Sunset Ridge

(Walnut, Illinois. May 25, 2025) – In the heart of America, Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Illinois, continues to shine as one of the most cherished stops on the ATV Motocross National Championship tour. For four-time National Champion Cody Janssen, this “home national” has always carried special meaning — and the 20th running of the event was no exception.

Competing in his second race of the 2025 season, Janssen delivered another strong performance, earning runner-up finishes in both the 25+ and 30+ A classes. The results continued an upward trend following his double podium at Ironman earlier in the season, signaling growing momentum for the Wisconsin native.

Beyond the racing, the weekend was deeply personal for the Janssen family. Exactly two years earlier, Cody’s father, Joel, suffered a stroke just before this very event — making his continued recovery and return to Sunset Ridge a powerful full-circle moment.

“Man, I wish I could go back and relive this past weekend just one more time,” Janssen shared. “The Sunset Ridge ATV National has always been our most anticipated weekend of the year. It holds such a special place in our hearts — especially now that we get to enjoy it as a family. We gave it a good run and just missed the top spot, but I’m proud of the fight. Two third-place overalls at Ironman, now two second-place overalls here… so how’s the next one going to go?”

Janssen also expressed gratitude to the fans who continue to support his Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast, which has grown into one of the sport’s most respected platforms. “Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support the podcast — whether it was with a merch purchase or a kind word,” he said. “And a huge thanks to the Hart family for letting me borrow a trailer again, and to my loved ones for continuing to love this sport as much as I do.”

With another pair of podium finishes in the books, Janssen looks ahead to the next round with confidence — and plenty of momentum.

As always, Cody extends his sincere gratitude to the many companies and supporters who make his program possible, starting with Yamaha Outdoors, Wienen Motorsports, PEP Performance Tuning, and Paul Turner for their unmatched support and guidance. Additional thanks go to SSI Decals, CST Tires, Valvoline, Elka Suspension, FMF Racing, and All Balls Racing Group — longtime partners who continue to fuel his passion and pursuit of excellence. Janssen also thanks his parents, wife Brooke, mechanic Dan Binder, and the entire Janssen Motorsports crew for their unwavering support. Special appreciation goes to GPS Offroad Products, E-Z UP Instant Shelters, Klink Equipment and Klink Hydraulics, Jay Gobel at Impact Solutions, Hinson Clutch Components, Thor MX, Parts Unlimited, D.I.D Chain, Atlas Brace, Cliff Cox, Precision Powder LLC, Bell Helmets, 100% Goggles, DT1 Filters, Larry Mills and DP Brakes, Rath Racing, Walsh RaceCraft, Fourwerx Carbon, Sunstar Sprockets, Works Connection, Renthal, Pro-Tec Racing, B.C.C.
