Janssen Grabs Holeshot & Season Bests at Ironman

After an unexpected and sizeable lapse in action following the cancelation of High Point, ATV Motocross national racing resumed this past weekend in Crawfordsville, IN at Ironman Raceway. Indiana has seen an abundance of rainfall these last few weeks, but the track shaped up beautifully and made for a great weekend of racing. The Hoosier state is like a second home for multi-time National Champion ATVMX Pro Cody Janssen, as his fiancée’s family calls Indiana home. Coming off the Cody Janssen Riding School hosting a class in southern Indiana the week prior, Janssen looked to put his own lessons to the test against the world’s best at Ironman.

In the Pro Class, the recently-turned 25-year-old Janssen spent the entire day around the top 10. Cody fought and fought, ending up with a respectable 12th overall on the day. In Sunday’s Pro Am racing, a poor gate pick and start hindered the #25 early in Moto 1 but he grinded his way to a top 10 finish. In Moto 2, Janssen grabbed the holeshot and lead the opening laps of the race! A mistake saw him give up the lead, but everyone saw a glimpse of what Cody is capable of and what to expect going forward. Janssen’s strong Moto 2 boosted him up to 6th overall in Pro Am, earning season bests in both classes!

“Man did it feel good to rip that holeshot and lead some laps today!” Janssen said at the conclusion of Pro Am Moto 2. “I always talk to my riding school kids about stacking success, well this was stage 1 of that today. From here, if we keep stacking success, we’ll be right where we need to be. I wanted more out of Moto 2 today, but this was clearly a step in the right direction. We showed we belong up front.”

So many great people make this possible, Cody must thank all the incredible individuals who show their support and make competing at the highest level possible. He must thank the Londerville family and Londerville Steel for coming on as the title sponsor for this season, without Jereme and his family none of this would be possible.
